Guided Colorado Training Hikes for Mount Kilimanjaro
You have decided to go on the adventure of a lifetime and are planning to climb Mount Kilimanjaro. Congratulations – now the work begins. You have probably already realized that climbing Kili is no small task, it may just be the hardest thing you ever do, not to mention the investment in time and resources you are committing to the endeavor. Good preparation and training will be key to your success. You will need to put in the hours in the coming months to ensure you are physically and mentally prepared for your expedition and we are here to help.
We are pleased to offer you a series of guided training hikes in Colorado carefully chosen to prepare you for the specific conditions you will encounter on Mount Kilimanjaro. Located on Colorado’s Front Range within easy access of Denver International Airport our Kilimanjaro Training Hikes Program is the best way to make sure you are ready for your adventure.
5 Day Itinerary
3 days of Hiking - 4 nights of lodging
DAY 1: Travel & Pre-Trip Meeting
Fly into DIA and make your way to the mountains for a pre-trip meeting at your hotel. Open groups are based in Estes Park for lodging and hike in Rocky Mountain National Park.
DAY 2: Acclimatization Hiking - Cow Creek to Gem Lake
The first day of hiking will focus on high mileage at moderate elevation. The goal is to begin putting mileage under our legs while allowing our bodies to acclimatize to the Colorado altitude.
DAY 3: Acclimatization Hiking - The Odessa Gorge Loop
The second day of hiking will again focus on high mileage but will now be at higher elevation and with much more elevation gain.
DAY 4: Summit DAy -

Our final day of hiking seeks to replicate the elevation gain and mileage of summit day on Kilimanjaro. It is long and steep. This is the kind of challenge that will get you ready for your expedition.
DAY 5: Travel on
We bid you farewell as you head on to your next adventure.
